Shalakya Tantra is the subject consisting three subdivisions- 1. Netra roga vigyan (Ophthalmology), 2. Karna-Nasa- Kanth-Shiro roga vigyan (ENT), 3. Mukh & Dant roga (Detistry). These specialties having some different methods of treatment known as Kriyakalp, like local application of medicine at the site of disease along with systemic administration as well as different type of surgeries including modern techniques.

Patients suffering from a variety of eye diseases are being examined, diagnosed and treated in the OPD.
Major diseases treated includes refractive errors, retinopathies, retinal dgenerative diseases, corneal ulcers,glaucoma etc.
- ENT OPD: Patients suffering from ENT diseases like tinnitus, hearing loss, otitis media, sinusitis etc are examined, diagnosed and treatedin the OPD. Kriyakramas like karnapooranam, dhoo-panam, kabalam, gandoosham,etc are also carried out in the OPD basis.
- EYE EXERCISE UNIT:Patients with refractive errors, squint, accommodation errors etc. are advised eye exercise along with the use of medicines. Palming, sunning, candle reading etc. are the exercises commonly advised
- REFRACTION UNIT:
To detect refractive errors in the eye, refraction test is conducted manually. These patients are subjected to autorefraction test for conformation and to find out diseases like astigmatism. After both the tests, correction with suitable glasses are advised.
- MINOR OT – SALAKYA:
Surgical procedures like bhedana, lekhana, armachedana,etc are carried out in the minor OT. Outpatients as well as inpatients those who require minor surgical procedures are treated in this unit.
